Bender Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bender hockey training application (“Bender,” “the app,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Bender, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who can use Bender

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms and supervise your use of the app. Bender is not directed to children under 13.

2. The service

Bender provides hockey training tools, including workouts, programs, mental-game content, performance/benchmark tools, teams, Buddies groups, and the Bender Board. Training content is informational only. Bender is not a medical provider, coach on the ice, or substitute for qualified in-person coaching or medical care.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for your username, password, and activity on the account. Keep your login private. Provide accurate information, including a recovery email if you use password or username recovery.

You may delete your account in the app: open Menu → your name (Profile) → Delete account. You will confirm with your password. Deletion removes your profile, training history, and memberships from our production systems, subject to backups, abuse records, and legal holds. Deleting your Bender account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel Bender Pro in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

4. Physical training and health

Strength training, skating, conditioning, shooting, stickhandling, and other hockey activities involve inherent risk of injury. You voluntarily assume those risks. You are responsible for training safely, using appropriate equipment, and staying within your limits. Consult a physician before starting a training program, especially if you have an injury or medical condition.

Bender does not supervise or monitor how you perform exercises. Performance metrics (including movement analysis, jump, agility, conditioning, and similar estimates) may be inaccurate. Do not rely on Bender for medical or diagnostic decisions.

5. Bender Pro (auto-renewable App Store subscriptions)

Individual Bender Pro is sold only through Apple In-App Purchase.

Subscription titles:

Price: the price shown in the Bender app and on the App Store at the time you subscribe (including local currency and taxes Apple displays). Some annual plans may include a free trial if Apple and the app show one before you confirm.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Bender does not control Apple billing, refunds, Family Sharing, or Ask to Buy. Unused portions of a free trial are forfeited when you subscribe, where Apple’s rules apply.

Bender Pro unlocks personal training features described in the app (for example Programs, personal Training generation, Mental Game playback, Benchmark testing, and extra Buddies access). Browsing may remain available on a free plan as shown in the app.

6. Team access

Coach team tools (roster, team programs, assigns, schedule, and related coach features) may be granted through a 30-day Pre-Season Pass when a coach creates a team in the app, an access code, an organization invoice, or a payment processor such as Stripe on the web. Team billing is for an organization/team, not a consumer Apple ID subscription. The iOS app does not sell team subscriptions and does not open Stripe. Player Bender Pro remains an App Store purchase.

Organization checkout happens on the web (or by invoice) at the same prices shown there. After payment, that team unlocks in the app. Digital features sold to individual consumers inside the iOS app as Bender Pro use Apple In-App Purchase.

7. User content, reporting, and blocking

You may post content others can see, including Buddies chirps, reactions, display names, team or group messages, and journal-style notes you choose to save.

You must not post illegal, harassing, hateful, sexual, violent, infringing, or otherwise objectionable content. We may remove content, suspend access, or delete accounts.

You can report content and block other users in the app. Open the ••• menu on a player card, Buddies activity, Friends, Bender Board, or a team message, then choose Report or Block. Help → Report a person or post also emails support@benderhockey.com. We review reports and aim to respond promptly.

You grant Bender a limited license to host and display your content as needed to operate the service. You keep ownership of your content.

8. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, scrape, or overload the service; impersonate others; share accounts in a way that violates these Terms; or use Bender to harm others. We may refuse service or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Third-party services

Bender uses hosting, email, Apple In-App Purchase, and may use a payment processor for team billing. Some training videos may play from YouTube or similar providers. Those services have their own terms. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for Bender.

10. Disclaimers and liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BENDER AND ITS CREATORS DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BENDER AND ITS CREATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS, OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO BENDER FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH MAY BE ZERO IF YOU ONLY USE A FREE PLAN OR PAY ONLY APPLE).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes may also be noted in the app.
